Are your Oil Spill Workers getting Deficient Trainings

There have been many reports coming in off late stating that there are oil spill workers who have been receiving deficient trainings. OSHA has reported that there are many firms that are offering these trainings and are falsely claiming to fulfill the HAZWOPER standards. OSHA agency officials have said that the complaints are widespread and there has been a sudden surge in the number of cases of oil spill workers undergoing deficient trainings. It has been reported that many workers are undergoing the training in less than the stipulated time of 40 hours by using online or video instructions only and not performing any hands on field work. The 40 Hour HAZWOPER trainings cannot be shortened. Furthermore, the online training courses are only a part of the overall 40 Hour HAZWOPER courses. This is why, undergoing only the online training without going through practical training is not acceptable.
